Calcific-tendonitis

LASER THERAPY

Calcific Tendonitis

Calcific tendonitis can happen in many tendons, however the most common place with symptoms is in the rotator cuff muscles of the shoulder. The body deposits calcium in areas where there is chronic injury and inflammation in an attempt to stabilize and heal, however, in the long-term these calcium deposits in tendons can impair function and increase inflammation and pain.

Laser therapy is an effective treatment option for reducing pain and muscle spasm, while improving function and shrinking the calcification. Laser light boosts circulation and stimulates the body to heal with proper tissue integrity and structure: this leads to long-lasting functional and symptomatic improvements. With the Summus Horizon laser pain and joint mobility improve dramatically within 4 laser sessions on average.
