LASER THERAPY

Lateral Epicondylitis

Colloquially referred to as tennis elbow owing to its common occurrence in the sport, lateral epicondylitis is a repetitive stress injury impacting the tendons for the wrist extensor muscles which attach to the outer aspect of the elbow. These tendons can become irritated from activities involving repetitive wrist and finger movement including typing, weightlifting, and using power tools.

With repetitive use the muscles become very tight, developing myofascial trigger points, and thickening of tendons which leads to less elasticity and increased stress on the attachment of the tendons to the bone. Laser therapy calms the inflammation and irritation and helps the tendons and muscles repair with optimal elasticity to heal symptoms of tennis elbow.
