Neuropathy Symptoms

Neuropathy is a non-specific diagnosis which identifies injury and dysfunction of nerves; peripheral neuropathy is a diagnosis specifically of the nerves that exit from the spine and supply the limbs and the skin, typically in a symmetric distribution. There are many causes of peripheral neuropathy including nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, and chemical toxicity.

Symptoms of peripheral neuropathy include poor balance, pain in a symmetric stocking-like pattern, loss of sensation and tingling in the feet, sensation of freezing or burning in the limbs, extreme sensitivity to touch, and falling. It most often occurs in the feet and legs because they contain the longest nerves in the body, and when nerve health and function is compromised the longest nerves will be impacted first.

Laser therapy improves microcirculation, stimulates the healing capacity nerves, while also inhibiting pain transmission. Clinically it provides long-lasting symptomatic relief and research also shows there is meaningful improvement in the condition; our Summus Horizon laser comes with specialized protocols specifically designed to facilitate nerve healing.
