Growing Pains

Growing pains are an uncomfortable symptom of growth and development, and arise when bones grow first and muscles, tendons, and ligaments lengthen afterward. The strain on these soft tissues can cause aches, tightness, and discomfort during growth spurts. These pains are especially common in the legs and often disrupt sleep; fortunately, there are effective methods to alleviate these pains and help your child get restful sleep during these phases.

Chiropractic care works to restore balance to the body by reducing tension in the muscles and joints, promoting better posture and alignment. Soft-tissue techniques such as myofascial release encourage blood flow, reduce muscle tightness, and support muscle lengthening which aids the body in adapting more comfortably to the rapid changes. Regular chiropractic adjustments reinforce balanced mobility and improve the nervous system's overall function, both of which facilitate the development of optimal movement patterns.
